Was wird als Mystik bezeichnet? Welche unterschiedlichen Wege, Praktiken und Sprache der Mystik können in den Religionen gefunden werden? Was verbindet und was unterscheidet diese scheinbar universalen Wege? Kann Mystik auch als sozialer und politischer Widerstand und dadurch als eine mit der alltäglichen Wirklichkeit verschränkte Erfahrung betrachtet werden? Alle diese Fragen werden anhand exemplarischer Beispiele aus verschiedenen Religionen eingegangen. Das Ziel des Seminars ist es einerseits einen Überblick über die mystischen Strömungen zu gewährleisten, um die Studierenden dadurch mit der Vielfalt religiöser Erfahrungen vertraut zu machen. Andererseits soll dadurch ein vertiefter Blick in verschiedene Religionen gewährleistet werden, die im Grundkurs kennengelernt werden.
