This course focuses on Britain, introducing you to four important topic blocks relevant to British society, politics, and cultures since the First World War right up to the present. The course will give you some background and context as well as helpful toolkits and terminology (from e.g., Hall, Foucault, Gramsci) for the subsequent in-depth pursuit of individual topics in your profile module papers.
Students in the FsB 2017 should have completed BM1 and BM2 before attending Social and Cultural Studies.
Students in the FsB 2022 need to have passed the Language Proficiency Test before attending this class.
I recommend that students in the MEd (FsB 2022) who attended this seminar in their BA for PM2, attend a different seminar for this element in the MEd module Profil4.
Primary and secondary material relevant to class discussions will be made available to students in class or on Moodle.
