230470 Leben als Werk: Über die Bedeutung künstlerischer Selbstdarstellung (S) (SoSe 2008)

Künstlerische Selbstinszenierungen zeitigen zumeist deutliche Auswirkungen auf die Rezeption eines Autors. Durch eine konsequente Selbststilisierung zum Vertreter des "Experimentalromans" gelang es beispielsweise dem "Bestsellerautor" Émile Zola den "Vulgaritätsverdacht" gegen sein Werk abzuwenden. Im Blick auf einige ausgewählte Autoren soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, wie sich Formen selbstreferenzieller Darstellung des Schriftstellers als Künstler auf seine Positionierung im literarischen Feld auswirkt. Behandelt werden (unter anderem) Thomas Bernhard, Marieluise Fleisser, Thomas Glavinic, Elfriede Jelinek, Imre Kertész.
