In diesem Modul werden die Kultivierung von pro- und eukaryotischen Mikroorganismen in Bioreaktoren und die Aufarbeitung der entsprechenden Produkte behandelt. Die einzelnen Versuche beinhalten die Kultivierung eines gentechnisch veränderten E. coli-Klons und die Aufnahme und Auswertung von Prozessparametern während der Kultivierung, die Isolierung eines rekombinanten Proteins durch Zellaufschluss und weitere Aufarbeitungsverfahren. Zur Herstellung eines niedermolekularen Produktes wird die Kultivierung eines Pilzes im Submersverfahren durchgeführt.
