The seminar focuses on Artificial Intelligence systems in the form of virtual and robotic agents that work in team-like settings with human and other agents. The aim of the seminar is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art and to map out recent and future developments necessary to enable AI agents to perform effectively in team-like situations while being aware of their human counterparts. We will cover various aspects of AI, including human activity and state recognition, human-aware planning, explainability and explicability of system behavior, and scaling the approaches to larger team sizes. Students will be expected (1) to give a presentation on one sub-theme of the seminar, drawing on recent research publications and established theories, (2) to prepare themselves for each session by reading a paper and submitting questions, (3) to write an essay of about 8-10 pages on a topic of choice within the area of the seminar.
