Das Verb (bzw. das Prädikat) fungiert als Träger wichtiger Informationen, die drei Bereichen angehören: Temporalität, Aspektualität und Modalität. Mit Temporalität wird die Situierung des referierten Sachverhalts in der Zeit angesprochen; Aspektualität meint die innere (auch zeitliche) Strukturierung des referierten Sachverhalts; in der Modalität finden unterschiedliche Formen der Beziehung zwischen dem referierten Sachverhalt und dem Sprecher einen Ausdruck. In diesem Kurs wollen wir uns einerseits ein grundlegendes Verständnis von Temporalität, Aspektualität und Modalität erarbeiten und andererseits weitergehende Einsichten zur Interaktion dieser Bereiche erlangen. Dies alles soll exemplarisch am Beispiel der romanischen Sprachen; Struktur- und Lesekenntnisse in einer der romanischen Sprachen sind daher notwendige Voraussetzung.
