392111 Mathematische Biologie (V) (SoSe 2017)

In dieser Veranstaltung werden grundlegende mathematische Modelle der Biologie behandelt. Einige Themen fallen in den Kernbereich der Genomforschung (wie das Luria-Delbrück-Experiment, der Koaleszenzprozess und das differentialgeometrische Bändermodell der DNA), andere schlagen die Brücke zur Biophysik (das Hudgkin-Huxley-Modell für das Aktionspotential) und Biochemie (kinetische Modelle für (bio)chemische Reaktionen). Die verwendeten mathematischen Methoden sind Stochastik, Differentialgleichungen, diskrete Mathematik und Geometrie. In der Ergänzungs-Vorlesungsstunde (am Donnerstag) werden diese Methoden -- zugeschnitten auf das jeweilige Thema -- wiederholt und ergänzt.
