Aus mittelniederdeutscher Zeit (ca. 1350 bis 1550) sind im Stadtarchiv Bielefeld ca. 120 Urkunden im Original erhalten. Hinzu kommen zahlreiche in Bielefeld geschriebene ostwestfälische Urkunden, die sich heute im Staatsarchiv Münster befinden. Diese sollen uns als Textbasis für eine Aufarbeitung der Stadtsprache Bielefelds dienen. Die meisten Urkunden sind bereits abgedruckt im Urkundenbuch von B. Vollmer, viele jedoch auch nur im Regest (Inhaltsangabe) mit Auszügen. Letztere sind in den vergangenen Semestern sorgfältig transkribiert worden und stehen ebenfalls im Volltext für Auswertungen bereit. Im Seminar werden die historischen Schreibungen für hochfrequente Lemmata ermittelt und für die Einarbeitung in einen Sprachatlas aufbereitet.
