Short comment

International Track

Contents, comment

In this seminar we will first discuss features of research designs of quantitative sociological studies. We then address questions regarding causality and estimation of effects.

The goal of this seminar is that students will be able to design studies in sociology and are able to identify key issues when addressing causality. Moreover, students will learn practical skills to construct studies and analyse data with Stata and R.

Requirements for participation, required level

Participants should be interested in
- Research designs
- Questions surrounding causality
- Programming with Stata or R (prior knowledge in at least one software package is useful)
- Advanced statistical models (basic knowledge in descriptive statistics and linear regressions is useful).
