The course will be held in English (including the discussion) and ONLINE via Zoom and Lernraum.

This seminar aims to introduce students to cultural research on personality at both the individual and cultural levels. The seminar will cover theories and findings related to personality and cultural psychology. The seminar will also focus on theories in cultural psychology, methods in cultural comparison research, measurement problems, and classic papers and recent findings in personality and cultural psychology. Special attention will be given to cultural findings on the Big Five personality traits.

Wichtige aktuelle Hinweise zur Seminarplatzvergabe:
Das Seminar zu Differentiellen Psychologie und Persönlichkeitsforschung (GF-Diff.3) wird im Wintersemester 2021/22 in vier Kursen angeboten, die jeweils unterschiedliche Themenschwerpunkte haben (s. Kursbeschreibungen im eKVV). Im Sommersemester 2022 werden voraussichtlich zwei weitere Kurse in angeboten.

Die Teilnehmer:innenzahl für die Kurse ist jeweils auf 30 begrenzt. Ob Sie an einem Kurs tatsächlich teilnehmen können, entscheidet sich erst durch die Platzvergabe. Die Seminarplatzvergabe erfolgt basierend auf den Prioritäten der Studierenden unter Berücksichtigung weiterer Kriterien (Studiengang, Fachsemester, persönliche Lebenssituation). Diese werden durch einen Online-Fragebogen erfasst. Füllen Sie diesen bitte bis spätestens Mittwoch, 13.10.2021, 15h aus.

Die Veranstaltung wird für Studierende im dritten B.Sc. Semester Psychologie empfohlen.

Student information

In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.

Students are expected to read one or two research papers per week and actively participate in the discussion.

Each student will be assigned into a group at the beginning of the semester, and each group will be asked to choose a paper and lead the discussion once during the semester.
