Max Weber steht bis heute - und in gewisser Weise nach Karl Marx - als /der/ klassische Autor des Faches da, obwohl bei ihm nur die letzten ca. zwölf Lebensjahre explizit im Zeichen der Soziologie (als Disziplin) stehen. Die Veranstaltung will in die Webersche Soziologie einführen, mit ihrer Vielseitigkeit und Grundbegrifflichkeit vertraut machen und sie auf andere zeitgenössische soziologische Programme beziehen. Sie will sicherstellen, daß die Studierenden in Direktberührung mit den Weberschen Schriften kommen und einen Überblick über das Werk erhalten.
