Eine Grundsatzdebatte in den Bildungswissenschaften betrifft die Frage, ob und in welchem Ausmaß Lernende direkt instruiert werden sollen (Instruktivismus) oder angeregt werden sollen, Lerninhalte selbständig zu entdecken (Konstruktivismus). Die Vertreter/innen beider Positionen gehen oft von unterschiedlichen Philosophien, Menschenbildern und Lernzielen aus, postulieren unterschiedliche Theorien und bevorzugen unterschiedliche Forschungsmethoden. Das Ziel des Seminars besteht darin, diese Debatte aufzuarbeiten. Darüber hinaus lernen die Teilnehmer/innen ausgewählte instruktivistische und konstruktivistische Lehr-Lern-Ansätze in der praktischen Anwendung kennen.
