Im Seminar werden Kapitel aus dem Buch
"An Introduction to the Bootstrap" von Bradley Efron and Robert J. Tibshirani , New York [u.a.] : Chapman & Hall , 1993
behandelt.
Die Technik des Bootstrap ist ein statistisches Verfahren, das eingesetzt wird, um die Verteilungseigenschaften von Statistiken auf der Grundlage der vorliegenden Stichprobe zu analysieren. Dieses Verfahren wird dann relevant, wenn Verteilungseigenschaften von Statistiken analytisch nicht ableitbar sind, oder wenn es unsicher ist, ob asymptotische Eigenschaften eine hinreichend akkurate Beschreibung der Verteilungseigenschaften bei kleinen Stichproben darstellen.
Das Buch ist - besonders in den ersten Kapiteln - sehr zugänglich geschrieben. Der hintere Teil enthält Kapitel, die insbesondere für Studenten mit fortgeschritteneren Kenntnissen des Schätzens und Testens interessant sind.
Die Seminarvorträge werden geblockt am Ende des Semesters stattfinden. Eine Vorbesprechung findet statt am 23.10.2003 um 14.00 Uhr s.t. in V9-117.
