Bioanalytische Methoden sind die "Augen und Ohren" des Molekularbiologen. Damit bestimmt die Wahl der Methode aber auch das, was der Biologe über das untersuchte Objekt erfährt. Durch die Kenntnis einer Methode, ihrer Möglichkeiten, aber auch ihrer Beschränkungen läßt sich erst einschätzen, in wie weit eine Aussage durch das Experiment gestützt wird. Die Vorlesung stellt etablierte wie neue und sehr aktuelle Methoden der Bioanalytik vor. Neben den Prinzipien der einzelnen Techniken werden aktuelle Beispiele aus Diplom- und Doktorarbeiten gegeben, in denen die betreffenden Methoden zur Anwendung kamen. Folgende Schwerpunkte sind vorgesehen: Analyse von DNA, Proteinen, Metaboliten, Zellen, Organismen, Bioinformatik und Literatursuche.
