This course builds on the skills you have acquired in the basic language modules. The goal is to develop your academic vocabulary and strategies of text analysis and argumentation so that you are able to participate effectively in advanced seminars (also at international universities), write summaries and term papers, and eventually, a bachelor's thesis. We will also deal with issues of source documentation and the avoidance of plagiarism. We will consider texts and multimedia materials from the areas of linguistcs, literature and British and American culture to practice in-depth reading/media comprehension and the discussion of ideas.
You should have completed BM 1 + Media, Information, Presentation.
