230501 Die Inseln des Ägäischen Meeres in der Antike (in Literatur, Kunst und Architektur) (BS) (SoSe 2021)

Die Ägäis als Nebenmeer des Mittelmeeres (zwischen Griechenland im Westen und Norden sowie der Türkei im Osten) mit ihrer Fülle von Inseln gilt als Wiege verschiedener antiker Hochkulturen, zumal der minoischen sowie der griechisch-antiken Kultur. In der Folge hinterließen auf den Inseln der Ägäis auch die Römer, Byzantiner, Genuesen, Venezier und Osmanen ihre Spuren, wobei die geographische Lage den kulturellen Austausch der östlichen Mittelmeerregion begünstigte und die kulturelle Entwicklung im Zuge einer Kombination verschiedener Kulturen beflügelte.
Im Rahmen des Seminars wollen wir unter Berücksichtigung sowohl der einschlägigen antiken Literaturzeugnisse als auch der entsprechenden Architektur- und Kunstzeugnisse eine virtuelle Bildungs- und Besichtigungsreise sowohl über die größeren Inseln der Ägäis (wie Kreta, Rhodos oder Lesbos) als auch über die kleineren Inseln (wie Kos, Andros, Naxos etc.) zur Zeit der Antike machen und vertiefte Einblicke in die kulturelle Entwicklung der östlichen Mittelmeerregion gewinnen.
Das Seminar wird synchron per Zoom-Videokonferenz durchgeführt.
