Was passiert in Pflanzen, wenn sich die Lichtintensität ändert, wenn sich die Umgebung unter das Temperaturoptimum abkühlt oder wenn sich die Ionenzusammensetzung der Umwelt verändert? Wie reagieren Pflanzen auf biotischen Stress? In der Vorlesung werden basierend auf gängigen Stresskonzepten Umweltadaptions- und Akklimationsmechanismen vorgestellt und unter vergleichender Betrachtung verschiedener Arten, Ökotypen und transgener Pflanzen sowie mit dem Ausblick auf Möglichkeiten zur Anwendung der Erkenntnisse in der Landwirtschaft und im Umweltschutz diskutiert. Die Vorlesung eignet sich als individuelle Ergänzung in biologischen, ökologischen und biochemischen Studiengängen.
