610005 Intelligente Bewegung (V) (SoSe 2015)

Contents, comment

In this seminar, we will provide insights into the understanding of human motor control. To this end, theories and experimental approaches that highlight the role of cognition in human movement organization and performance will be presented and discussed. The students will learn about how people plan, execute, and control their movements, with a particular focus on goal-directed manual actions. Research questions of classical as well as recent papers will be experimentally investigated, analyzed, and discussed. Next to a general introduction to the field of cognitive motor control, a major aim of this seminar is to teach scientific working (e.g., developing research questions, conducting psychological experiments, presenting and interpreting results). Students will be required to read and discuss scientific papers in the field of cognitive motor control. The seminar will be held in English.
