The seminar focuses on suprasegmental (prosodic) aspects, their role in different spoken language processes, and how they have been approached in the scientific literature from a computational point of view. It involves the reading, the understanding and the discussion of scientific articles dealing with these topics, as well as with computational implementations of the studied aspects. For this, the participants should be familiar with the Python programming language, be able to understand simple scripts written in it and also to carry out small modifications to them.
The course work consists of presentations of the read articles and of the results obtained in class. Moreover, the participants will gather the acquired knowledge in collaboratively written scientific reports.

The binding module descriptions contain further information, including specifications on the "types of assignments" students need to complete. In cases where a module description mentions more than one kind of assignment, the respective member of the teaching staff will decide which task(s) they assign the students.
