This course will most likely take place in presence. In case of distance teaching you will have to be available for video conferences during the allotted time slot.
The seminar will focus on teaching the five key competences, lesson planning and assessment, grammar (focus on form) as well as literature and intercultural learning. It aims at providing you with the basic tools you will need as a teacher (trainee). The aim is to explore and discuss how theories you encounter in your studies can be applied in every-day school life, and to get experience in the areas of lesson planning and material design. You will also have the chance to discuss questions about school life in general and an EFL teacher's job that you consider relevant for your future job life.
For a Studienleistung, you will have to actively participate in class. This will include:
- the reading of the texts for each session,
- the participation in group activities and presentations,
- an ongoing project work during the semester,
- regular attendance of and speaking in seminar sessions and/or video conferences
For a Prüfungsleistung, there will be an exam at the end of the lecturing period. For those who failed or could not attend the first exam, there will be a second exam during the semester break.
