Ziel:
In der Veranstaltung werden grundlegende Kenntnisse zur Analyse demographischer Prozesse und Strukturen vermittelt. Es werden sowohl historische und theoretische Ansätze der Demographie vorgestellt als auch empirische Grundlagen der demographischen Prozesse behandelt. Im Vordergrund steht die Analyse der drei Bevölkerungsprozesse Mortalität, Fertilität und Migration sowie globaler Wachstumsprozesse und der demographischen Alterung. Die Veranstaltung wird ergänzt durch bei bevölkerungsstatistisches Seminar, in dem grundlegende demographischen Methoden vorgestellt werden.

Zur Bedeutung (Aufgaben und Ziele) der Population Division der Vereinten Nationen
