Das zentrale Ziel des Seminars besteht darin, alltagsweltliche Vorstellungen über die Funktion von Kommunikation zu erschüttern und im Rückgriff auf soziologische Theorien eine alternative Perspektive auf Kommunikation und deren Gelingen bzw. Misslingen zu entwickeln. Mit Hilfe dieser Theorieperspektive werden unterschiedliche Bereiche sportbezogener Kommunikation beleuchtet, u.a. die Trainer-Athlet-Kommunikation im Spitzensport und die Erziehungskommunikation im Sportunterricht.

Da es sich um ein Vertiefungsseminar handelt, ist der erfolgreiche Abschluss (bestandene Klausur) der Veranstaltung „Soziologische und historische Fragen des Sports“ (Grundlagenvorlesung) Voraussetzung für die Teilnahme.
