Competencies

Dieses Modul vermittelt vertiefte Kenntnis von der molekularen und elektronischen Struktur von Koordinationsverbindungen als Grundlage zum Verständnis der Eigenschaften und Reaktivitäten dieser Stoffklasse. Die Studierenden werden in die Lage versetzt, diese Grundlagen auf Metallionen in der belebten Natur anzuwenden und sich so die molekularen Grundlagen vieler essentieller Reaktionen in der Natur zugänglich zu machen.

Content of teaching

Die Vorlesung behandelt Koordinations- und Bioanorganische Chemie. Dazu zählen im Einzelnen:

  1. Koordinationschemie: Struktur und Stabilität von Übergangsmetallkomplexen, Magnetochemie, Bindungsverhältnisse und Reaktivität von Übergangsmetallkomplexen
  2. Bioanorganische Chemie: Essentielle Metallionen, Metallbindungsstellen in Biomolekülen, Funktionen von Metallionen in der belebten Natur, Cu-Proteine, Fe-Proteine, Biometallorganik, Metalle in der Medizin

Im Seminar werden aktuelle Arbeitsrichtungen der Anorganischen Molekülchemie in Einzelbeispielen und Fallstudien vorgestellt.
