Die Lösungskompetenz für praktische Aufgabenstellungen und die Anwendung von modernen Auswerteverfahren wird in der Übung und im Praktikum geschult.

Content of teaching

Das Modul vertieft das Verständnis der molekularen Betrachtung biochemischer Prozesse und der Struktur von Biopolymeren. Es werden moderne physiko-chemische Methoden an Beispielen in Theorie und Praxis vermittelt mit einem Schwerpunkt auf Streumethoden und spektroskopischen Methoden. Inhaltlich wird ein Bogen gespannt über viele Größen- und Zeitskalen vom Potential der Zelle über das Verhalten von Biomembranen bis zur Faltung und Dynamik von Proteinen. Ein weiterer Fokus ist das Gebiet der molekularen Maschinen, Sensoren und Energiewandler. Physikochemische Konzepte und methodische Strategien werden an diesen Beispielen veranschaulicht.
