The interdisciplinary master course focuses on the human movement system and its connection to cognitive competences such as intelligence and memory. The aim is to combine the fundamentals of natural and cognitive science with modern methods of movement and memory analysis. Students acquire skills in experimental work with quantitative Sports Science research methods, for example in kinematic movement analysis and innovative cognitive diagnostics such as electroencephalography and memory analysis. The degree programme enables students to apply, develop and evaluate movement-related training and rehabilitation measures, including using virtual and augmented reality.

The degree programme offers a focus on Sport & Exercise and/or Sport & Technology, which opens up both sport-related and technology-related professional fields. It places great emphasis on scientific orientation and offers good prerequisites for further scientific qualification after graduation. Graduates acquire important skills for sports-related professions such as movement and performance diagnostics in clubs, associations or companies as well as in fitness and health sports. In rehabilitation and sports therapy, these can be used to evaluate therapy and training programmes. In technology-related professional fields, the skills taught enable technical systems to be adapted to human action planning and movement possibilities, for example in the development and evaluation of cognitive and motor assistance systems.

Applicants should have an interest in deepening their knowledge of Sports Science and/or neurocognitive science. They should be willing to further develop this knowledge from an interdisciplinary and research-orientated perspective in sport or health-related contexts. For technology-related occupational fields, you should have knowledge of technical science.
