Psychology is an empirical science that investigates human experience and behaviour as well as human development. As part of the degree programme, you will receive in-depth training in research methods and scientific work. In addition to learning the fundamentals of psychology, including perception, emotion and motivation, you will have the opportunity to set your own individual focus with the four applied subjects: clinical psychology, educational psychology, work and organisational psychology and cognitive neuroscience. As part of the compulsory internships, you can gain initial insights into the professional world and possible career fields. Our Bachelor with One Core Subject offers a bachelor's degree in psychotherapy that conforms to the requirements of the “Approbationsordnung”.

Bielefeld University offers the following three psychology master degree programmes:
Applied Psychology: Diagnostics, Counselling and Training
Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
Psychology - Experimental Psychology and Neuroscience
