Curriculum Vitae

I obtained my PhD in at the University of Bielefeld in 2011, as part of the international research training group Bielefeld-Beijing, in the field of qualitative properties of solutions to SPDE. In a subsequent PostDoc position at TU & HU Berlin, I extended my research to rough paths and singular SPDE. After two years, I was awarded a DFG research scholarship, which I utilized to initiate a project at the University of Chicago (USA) with Panagiotis Souganidis, focusing on the development of a theory of stochastic scalar conservation laws and regularization by noise. After two years at the University of Chicago, I was awarded a prestigious (free-floating) Max-Planck research group, which I chose to locate at the Max-Planck Institute in Leipzig (2015-2021). During this time I further broadened my area of research, including kinetic theory and micro-local analysis, interacting particle systems, mathematics of machine learning, and numerical analysis for (S)PDE. In 2018-2019, I received five offers for full professorships, and became a full professor in Bielefeld in 2019. In addition, since 2021, I am co-heading the research group “Stochastic Analysis in the Sciences, Bielefeld-Leipzig” located at University of Bielefeld and MPI MiS Leipzig. In 2023 I was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant "FluCo" on fluctuations in continuum and conservative stochastic partial differential equations.
