Thema: Diese Veranstaltung soll ein Gesamtbild der Fächer Mathematik und Informatik zeichnen, das die Einordnung der fachspezifischen Veranstaltungen in einen gemeinsamen Rahmen ermöglicht. Das erfolgt durch die Darstellung der geschichtlichen Entwicklung dieser beiden Gebiete, ihrer Vernetzung, der Methoden, der aktuellen Forschung und wichtiger Akteure im Lauf der Zeit.
Anrechnung: Diese Veranstaltung wird erst im Laufe des Semesters als Modul 39-Inf-PMI in die offizielle Modulliste aufgenommen. Daher fehlt hier noch die Kategorie "Modul Studienmodell 2011". Dennoch dürfen sich Bachelor-Studierende, die ab dem Sommersemester 2011 eingeschrieben sind, diese Veranstaltung als strukturierte Ergänzung oder alternativ als individuelle Ergänzung mit 10 LP anrechnen. Für alle anderen gilt diese Veranstaltung nur als individuelle Ergänzung.
