250100 Introduction to International Studies in Educational Science (S) (WiSe 2012/2013)

Contents, comment

The seminar is an introductory course to international studies in Educational Science. A short overview over central definitions and terms in international and comparative education will be examined and in relation to their historical background discussed and systemized.
Furthermore special topics in international studies in educational science will be integral part of the seminar. The special topics, which are presented and discussed initially in the seminar context, are:

  • International Education
  • Cosmopolitan identities as a result of International Education
  • Early Childhood Education

General information: the seminar language is English and a good opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge in English academic language. For this reason the general interest in reading English texts and the willing to discuss in English is necessary.

Bibliography

The exclusively English literature, which will treat the international discourse, will be announced in the first session of the seminar and will be provided in the StudIP.

Die Studienleistung bzw. aktive Teilnahme wird über die regelmäßige Teilnahme am Seminar, sowie der aktiven Mitarbeit (s.o.) erworben. Zum Erwerb der Studienleistung / aktiven Teilnahme wird die Mitarbeit an und die Präsentation verschiedener im Seminar integrierter Gruppenarbeiten des Seminars vorausgesetzt.

Studierende, die eine benotete Einzelleistung bzw. Modulprüfung benötigen, können diese im Rahmen einer mündlichen Prüfung erwerben (BA KF alt: BE 3.2; BA KF/NF neu: 25-BE 2.2; BiWi G, G ISP, HRGe: 25-BiWi 2.2; BiWi GymGe: 25-BiWi 14.2).

The course performance respectively the active participation will be achieved by regular attendance and participation in the seminar. Active participation in group works and the presentation of integrated group works in the seminar is provided for attaining the course achievement and the credit points.
