Chloroplasten sind die Sonnen-Kraftwerke der pflanzlichen Zelle. Der Mechanismus der Energiekonversion von Sonnenlicht in chemisch verwertbare Energie ist ihre zentrale Aufgabe. In der Vorlesung werden schwerpunktmäßig diese bioenergetischen Aspekte und deren mögliche Umsetzung in biotechnologische Verfahren der Energiegewinnung (Wasserstoff aus Sonnenlicht) vor dem Hintergrund eines sich dramatisch verändernden Bedarfs an erneuerbaren Energien behandelt.
