Im Vordergrund steht das Bestimmen der einheimischen Süßwassernematoden. Diese Organismengruppe ist die häufigste und artenreichste Gruppe der Metazoen in benthischen Lebensräumen. Vorteilhaft für die Bestimmung der Nematoden ist ihre Transparenz, d.h. sie können ohne Präparation unter dem Mikroskop bestimmt werden. Die Zuordnung der Nematoden in verschiedene Ernährungstypen (Bakterien-, Algen-, Alles-, Pilzfresser und Räuber) sowie die Bestimmung dominanter Gattungen sind das Ziel dieses Kurses. Darüberhinaus werden grundlegende Kenntnisse zur Ökologie und Morphologie der Nematoden vermittelt. [empfohlen für D-Umw]
