Music is much more than just a subject. It accompanies us in our everyday lives, whether as a listener in concert or at a festival, as a producer of songs and beats on your own tablet, or as a musician in a choir or music club.

In the Bachelor's program in Music (HRSGe), students learn about music in all its diversity. They expand and deepen their skills in singing and on the instrument, make music together in ensembles and come into contact with current research questions and methods. In addition, they build up sound didactic and pedagogical knowledge that enables them to teach children and young people about the diversity of musical manifestations. Some courses are interdisciplinary and take into account the interdisciplinary work in elementary school as well as the aesthetic-artistic learning in the context of cultural education.

The Bachelor's degree is usually followed by a Master's degree in a teaching-related program leading to a Master of Education or an artistic-scientific program leading to a Master of Arts (e.g. Master's degree in "Cultural Education"). In the Master of Education, the fundamentals of musical teaching and learning acquired in the Bachelor's degree are deepened and tested and reflected upon during the practical semester.
