Competencies

In this module, students apply the theoretical foundations learned in the "Life Cycle Assessment" module through practical examples. After the course, students will be able to carry out all essential steps of a life cycle assessment using a selected program independently. Students are familiar with the parameters that are important for the successful execution of a life cycle assessment analysis. Furthermore, students possess the ability to critically reflect on the life cycle assessment they conducted and discuss possible influencing factors.

Content of teaching

In this module, practical aspects of life cycle assessment (LCA) are taught using selected examples. The theoretical foundations covered in the lecture "Life Cycle Assessment" find a practical counterpart here.

As part of the seminar, an exemplary life cycle assessment is carried out individually, in groups or in plenary sessions. The object of the life cycle assessment is agreed at the beginning of the course. The results are presented in plenary at the end of the seminar, where the results achieved are presented and critically discussed. This approx. 15-25 minute presentation is accompanied by media such as a poster, slides or a blackboard.
