Durch das Erstellen der Masterarbeit wird die Kompetenz der/des Studierenden gefördert, ein Thema selbstständig nach wissenschaftlichen Grundsätzen zu bearbeiten.

Content of teaching

Als Masterarbeit ist unter der Anleitung eines Betreuers/einer Betreuerin eine schriftliche Arbeit zu einem statistischen Themengebiet anzufertigen.

Die Masterarbeit ist eine schriftliche Ausarbeitung. Die Bearbeitungszeit beträgt sechs Monate. Der Ausgabezeitpunkt ist aktenkundig zu machen. Der Umfang der Arbeit beträgt in der Regel zwischen 40 und 80 Seiten. Thema und Aufgabenstellung müssen so beschaffen sein, dass die Bearbeitung innerhalb des vorgesehenen Workload von 30 LP (900 Stunden) möglich ist. Voraussetzung für eine positive Bewertung ist, dass die Arbeit in dreifacher Ausfertigung fristgerecht beim Prüfungsamt der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften eingereicht wird. Die Masterarbeit kann nicht als Gruppenarbeit angefertigt werden. Alle promovierten Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften sowie die Mitglieder des Zentrums für Statistik und deren promovierte Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter können Betreuer sein. Mindestens eine Prüferin/ein Prüfer muss aus der Gruppe der Professoren kommen. Weitere Regelungen ergeben sich aus der Masterprüfungsordnung.
