The Master's degree programme "Intelligent Interactive Systems" aims to convey in-depth knowledge and state-of-the-art methods for the development and realisation of intelligent interactive systems, taking into account recent technological advances and scientific findings. Such systems are characterised by their ability to perceive complex, dynamic or open environments and to interact intelligently within them. A key feature is their ability to behave cognitively and learn so that they can adapt to changing situations, tasks or users. Such systems are being developed in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, automation, assistance systems and human-machine interaction. They are applied in a wide range of areas such as manufacturing, services, transportation, care/medicine, or in home environments.

Students will learn how to work independently according to the scientific methods and principles of Cognitive Informatics (with a focus on intelligent and interactive systems) and, depending on their specialisation, other relevant disciplines (AI, robotics, linguistics, biology, psychology). In addition to imparting knowledge, the Master's degree programme focuses on teaching increasingly important interdisciplinary skills as well as practical, professionally qualifying knowledge and skills. Students thus learn the methods for developing intelligent interactive systems, for applying them and assessing the impact of the corresponding systems, and for deploying them in a reflected and responsible manner.

The "Intelligent Interactive Systems" degree programme addresses the great demand for Computer Scientists with an interdisciplinary education in the field of intelligent technical systems. Wherever AI systems, robots or other autonomous information systems are developed in the digitalized world, computer scientists with a background in the intersection of intelligent systems / artificial intelligence and interactive systems / human-technology interaction are urgently needed and have excellent career prospects. Possible career fields include development departments in mechanical engineering, production facilities (Industry 4.0), the automotive and media industries, as well as in all areas of software development for education, medicine, entertainment, or other digital services in the private or public sectors.

Double-degree programmes

Università di Bologna

In this program, an international double degree is possible in cooperation with the Università di Bologna (Italy).
