Molecular Biotechnology

The Molecular Biotechnology degree programme at Bielefeld University offers a comprehensive education in the fundamentals of natural sciences and biotechnology. Students acquire in-depth knowledge of bioprocess technology, Molecular Biology and Computer Science, supplemented by a high practical component. This enables them to apply common biotechnology techniques and methods and to be prepared for the requirements of the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

The degree programme encourages students to work independently and offers a wide range of options so that they can set their own individual priorities. The practical training in current molecular genetic procedures and biotechnological production methods optimally prepares graduates for the diverse challenges in the industry. In addition, doctoral skills are promoted in a broad range of subjects, which helps graduates to compete on the labour market.
