Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Informatics combines computer science with an understanding of cognitive processes: how information is perceived, processed and translated into actions – and how this can be modelled in technical systems. In the Bachelor’s programme at Bielefeld University’s Faculty of Technology, students acquire foundations in computer science and AI, data-driven methods and cognitive modelling, as well as competencies for developing and assessing intelligent applications. Practical relevance and scientific methods go hand in hand; at the same time, the research-oriented environment offers insights into current topics and supports international experience.
Further Master’s degree programmes are available for specialisation. Career fields range from AI and software development to data-based analytics, human–technology interaction and automation.
