Frau Victoria Alexis Saint

Victoria Saint is a global and public health practitioner, analyst and researcher specialising in health equity and the social determinants of health. Her doctoral research focuses on the equity, gender and social determinants of health dimensions of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), including how these issues are reflected and addressed by national and global policies and stakeholders. Victoria's other research projects focus on the German global health landscape, including how to systematically strengthen the education, training and professional development of global health practitioners and researchers. On the teaching side, she is lead instructor of the Global Health module and centrally involved in the development of a new "International Perspective of Public Health" (IPPH) profile in the MPH programme.

Victoria was a Technical Officer for the Social Determinants of Health (SDH) Unit, in the Department of Public Health, Environmental and Social Determinants of Health at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva from 2013 to 2015, and continued working with the SDH Unit as a retained consultant until the end of 2017.

From 2016 to March 2019, Victoria also worked as an independent consultant for other UN and academic organisations, as well as working part time at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) Global Institute – Berlin as the Instructor Leader and Academic Advisor of the Global and Community Health Track. Prior to this, Victoria was the Research Development Manager for the Southgate Institute of Health, Society and Equity at Flinders University in Australia. She has previously worked as a technical and research consultant in Australia, Sweden, Germany and India.

She received a Master of Science (International Health) from Uppsala University, Sweden in 2010 and a Double Bachelor in Health Sciences and Social Sciences from the University of Adelaide in 2007, majoring respectively in Public Health and Psychology.
