  • 2016 : Member of the organisation team of the 27th NeuroDoWo conference at Bielefeld University
  • October-November 2015: 6 weeks research trip to the Vrije Univeristeit Amsterdam to investigate the influence of object texture on grasping behaviour
  • June 2015: Grant (US$ 1750) from IEEE’s Technical Committee on Haptics (Student exchange program). This grant was provided to enable a 6 weeks visit to the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in October/November 2015
  • Since 2015: Mentee in the "movement" mentoring program
  • Since January 2014: Start of the PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and member of the Graduate School Cognitive Interaction Technology
  • 2013-2014: Master Thesis "Modes of exploration in slant perception" in the laboratory of Prof. M. Ernst, Cognitive Neuroscience, Bielefeld University

Aktuelle Forschungsthemen

Every day we use our hands to obtain information about objects e.g. their quality. For my PhD I use psychophysical as well as behavioral methods to investigate how our exploratory movements influence our perception. The results will help elucidate the general link between action and perception.

Especially I'm interested in:

  • Bimanual haptic adaptation to slant with and without an object present
  • Visual influence on bimanual adaptation to slant
  • Influence of surface roughness on grasping behaviour
