Herr Prof. Dr. Hermann Jahnke

Prior to joining the Business Administration and Economics Faculty at Bielefeld University as a Full Professor and Chair for Management Accounting and Operations Management in 1995, Hermann Jahnke was a professor for operations management (temporary) at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Hamburg, Germany, and a professor for Business Administration at Cologne University, Cologne, Germany. He completed his Habilitation in Operations Management at the Institute for Logistics & Transport and his PhD at the Institute for Statistics and Econometrics, both at Hamburg University.

He served as Dean of the Faculty from 1997-1998 and 2015-2023 and Dean of Studies from 2005-2009.

He published several articles in international journals including Decision Sciences, the European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Forecasting, Computers & OR, the International Journal of Production Economics, Management Science, and the Journal of Mathematical Modelling and Algorithms. Moreover, he wrote three books (all in German) on cluster analysis as a statistical method and on operations management.
