Ralf Rapior’s research addresses the postcolonial critique of sociological knowledge. It examines sociology’s Eurocentrism, imperial amnesia, imperial entanglements, and imperial legacies. Ralf Rapior’s main research fields are postcolonial and global historical sociologies, with a specific focus on the social history and theory of empires, states and societies, multiple modernities, globalization and world society, and the sociology of sociology.
