Prof’in (Universität Gedik) Dr. Gülsün Ayhan Aygörmez, LL.M. (Bielefeld)

Prof.'in (Gedik University) Dr Aygörmez, LL.M. (Bielefeld) has been teaching at the Faculty of Law at Bielefeld University since 2004.

Since 2013, she has occasionally held courses on criminal law and criminal procedure, environmental criminal law, climate criminal law, medical criminal law, etc. at various universities in Turkey. Since 2019, she has also been teaching irregularly as a visiting professor on environmental criminal law, economic criminal law (in particular on German economic criminal law with international references in the winter semester 2022/23 in German, German environmental criminal law in international comparison and Turkey in German in the winter semester 2023/24) at the University of Kassel and is currently organising international seminars and events in Germany and Japan as part of the German-Japanese environmental law projects.

She completed her first degree in 1999 at the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at Ege University and her second degree in 2003 at the University of Kassel.

In 2007, she obtained her Master's degree (LL.M.) in Criminal Procedure Law from Bielefeld University and also obtained her Ph.
Doctorate (Dr. iur.). for material criminal law (on the General Part of Turkish and German Criminal Law) at Bielefeld University.
Finally, on 15 March 2017, she received the title "Assoc. Prof.'in" for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law in Turkey.
In 2022, she was appointed professor in Turkey (at Gedik University, Istanbul).

She is on the list of German-speaking lawyers in the district of the Consulate General Istanbul.
She is also recognised as an expert witness before various courts and as a sworn Turkish-German translator/interpreter at the Besiktas Notary's Office in Turkey.
