This course is especially offered for those students that study G+ISP, but it's also open for all other students who are becoming English teachers in primary school.
Inclusion is a central and contemporary topic that primary schools have to deal with. Therefore, also the teacher of the English class has to find ways of how to work with classes which are not only heterogeneous but also integrative and inclusive. But how do you teach English to a child with special needs?
We'll start off with taking a closer look at heterogeneity as well as the idea of inclusion. After that, we'll consider various difficulties, disabilities or specific characters which children might have to look at ways how to integrate these children into the English classroom and how to teach English to them.
We'll finish with a a practical experience and also with a critical reflection on the topic.
It is strongly suggested to take this course after having completed "Introduction to English Language Teaching Methodology" as it builds up on knowledge you gained there
A list of literature will be provided in the first session and in the syllabus.
