Die optimale technische Infrastruktur für meine Promotion.

Abhängig von Faktoren wie Forschungsgegenstand und Methode, Arbeitsorten und bevorzugten Arbeitsweisen
soll erarbeitet werden, wie sich die Promovierende eine individuelle Arbeitsumgebung einrichten können. Dies umfasst sowohl die Auswahl der eingesetzten
Hard- und Software, Methoden der Transkription, Literaturverwaltung, Digitalisierung als auch Speicher-/Kommunikationskonzepte.

Im Blockseminar sollen entsprechend den Präferenzen der Promovierenden folgende Themenblöcke behandelt werden:

1. Auswahl und Beschaffung von Hardware
Welche Hardware passt zu meiner Arbeitsweise und meinem Budget? Wie wähle ich ein bestimmtes Gerät aus und wo wird es am besten gekauft?

2. Softwareeinsatz
Alternativen zu MS Word, Vor- und Nachteile verschiedener Literaturverwaltungen, spezifische Software für Transkriptionen, Berechnungen, Alternativen zu PowerPoint.

3. Digitales Arbeiten
Scannen von Quellen mit Texterkennung sowie Arbeit mit dem Tablet statt auf Papier.

4. Sicherheit
Welche Sicherheitsrisiken gibt es und wie können sie vermieden oder reduziert werden?

5.Speicher und Backupkonzepte
Wie verwalte ich meine Daten sicher, praktikabel und funktional?

6. Kommunikation
Eigenpräsentation im Internet über die persönliche Profilseite der BGHS und die Bedeutung von (akademischen) sozialen Netzwerken.

Im abschließenden Workshop ist Gelegenheit, die eigene Hardware auf Vordermann zu bringen und praktisch an Hard und Softwarelösungen oder Websiteprofilen zu basteln.

The optimum technical infrastructure concerning my PhD.

Depending on factors such as research object and method, places of work and preferred ways of working, this seminar will elaborate on how PhD students are able to establish an individual working environment themselves.

This includes the selection of the utilised hardware and software, methods of transcription, reference management, digitisation and storage -/ communication concepts.

Within the frame of this block seminar the following topic blocks are to be treated according to the preferences of doctoral students:
1.Selection and procurement of hardware
Which hardware is suitable for the way I work and my budget? How do I choose a specific device, and where it is best purchased?

2.The use of software
Alternatives to MS Word, advantages and disadvantages of various administrations literature, specific software for transcription, calculations, alternatives to PowerPoint.

3.Digital Work
Scanning sources with OCR and work with a tablet instead of paper.

4.Security
Which security risks occur and how can they be avoided or reduced?

5.Storage and Backup Concepts
How do I manage my data in order to keep it safe, practical and functional?

6. Communication
Self-presentation on the internet via the personal profile page of the BGHS and the importance of (academic) social networks.

In the concluding Workshop participants can improve their personal devices and work with Software or polish their Website profiles.
