Die Einführung vermittelt anwendungsrelevantes Grundlagenwissen der romanistischen Literaturwissenschaft an Textbeispielen der französischen und spanischen Literatur aus verschiedenen Jahrhunderten. Orientiert an den drei "Großgattungen" Dramatik, Lyrik und Prosa werden grundlegende Begriffe diskutiert, Methoden der Textanalyse vorgestellt und eingeübt sowie Grundprobleme der Literaturtheorie thematisiert.

Grundlage der Seminararbeit stellen die folgenden beiden Einführungen dar, die bis zum Semesterbeginn in der jeweils relevanten Ausgabe (spanisch oder französisch) angeschafft sein sollten:
