Medical assisitve systems have become an important research topic. However, es health-related decisions and support are a highly sensitive area computer assistance and support need to be able to provide explanations regarding the underlying processes in order to induce trust.
In this seminar we will look into approaches that target explainability issues addressing cognitive biases in humans, such as wrong estimation of basis rates or confirmation bias, when dealing with decisions in specific situations. We will thus look into cognitive biases of human decision making and potential counter-measures to address such possible sources of errors.
