Das Seminar behandelt die Entwicklung des Bank- und Kreditwesens von der Gründung des Deutschen Kaiserreichs bis zum Ende der nationalsozialistischen Herrschaft. Es beschäftigt sich mit der Funktion der Kreditinstitute in der Wirtschaft, dem Verhältnis von Banken und (Wirtschafts)politik, der wirtschaftlichen Macht der Banken und der Entstehung und den Folgen von Finanzkrisen.
