In diesem Modul werden die Grundlagen der experimentellen Analyse von Genomen bei Eukaryoten behandelt. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt bei pflanzlichen Modellsystemen, aber auch Hefe, tierische Modellsysteme sowie Daten aus der Analyse des menschlichen Genoms werden besprochen. Insbesondere die experimentelle Überprüfung von theoretischen Vorhersagen wird behandelt. Lernziele: Die Studierenden sollen aktuelle experimentelle Methoden der Genomforschung bei Eukaryoten kennenlernen. Die Komplexität eukaryotischer Genome soll erfasst und eingeordnet werden. Unterschiede der Organisation verschiedener Genome sollen verstanden, und Bezüge zur Biologie der jeweiligen Organismen aufgebaut werden.
