Die Lehrveranstaltung orientiert sich im wesentlichen am Lehrplan für die Primar- und Sekundarstufe der Schulen in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Ausgehend von dem dort zugrundeliegenden Verständnis des Bewegungsfeldes "Bewegen an Geräten - Turnen" sollen die Studierenden die vielfältigen Bewegungs- und Erfahrungsmöglichkeiten dieses Sportbereichs kennenlernen sowie grundlegende turnspezifische Kenntnisse erwerben.
Inhalte der Veranstaltung sind:
Helfen und Sichern im Turnen; Normgebundenes Turnen an Geräten, Gerätebahnen und -kombinationen; Normungebundenes Turnen nach Bedeutungsgebieten und in Gerätelandschaften; Turnerische und akrobatische Partner- und Gruppengestaltungen; Schulsportwettkämpfe.

Requirements for participation, required level

Demonstration der Mindestleistung am Boden (Studienmodell 2002) bzw. der Leistung des studienbegleitenden Eignungsfeststellungstests/des Sportmotorischen Propädeutikums (Studienmodell 2011) am Boden. Die Leistungen werden in der ersten Sitzung abgeprüft.
Studierende mit nur geringen Vorkenntnissen im Turnen sollten vor Besuch der Veranstaltung einen Stützkurs absolviert haben. Auch sollte von ihnen der Kurs "Grundlagen der Verbesserung motorischer Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten" vorab besucht werden.

Die regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme ist an die zuverlässige Erledigung von Übungsaufgaben gekoppelt, die zu ausgewählten Themen des Kurses gestellt werden.
