230324 Der Islam in den deutschen Medien (S) (SoSe 2019)

Die Berichterstattung der deutschen Printmedien in den vergangenen 24 Monaten ist geprägt von zahlreichen Diskursen, die auf unterschiedliche Art mit dem Islam verbunden sind. Zentrale Medienereignisse waren beispielsweise die Flüchtlingsdebatte, die Attentate in Paris zu Beginn und im Herbst 2014, die Aktivitäten des Islamischen Staates oder völkerrechtliche Ereignisse. In diesem Seminar wollen wir uns die Berichterstattung der (Print-)Medien genauer ansehen und mit unterschiedlichen methodischen Verfahren wie Diskursanalyse, Metaphernanalyse, Rahmenanalyse etc. untersuchen. Es geht dabei nicht um "den Islam", sondern vielmehr darum, in welcher Sprache, mit welchen Bildern und Symbolen sowie Stereotypisierungen und Metaphern dieser kommuniziert wird und welche Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen dabei erzeugt werden. Dazu werden konkrete Fallstudien erarbeitet und analysiert. Leistungspunkte sollen in Form von Projekten und Präsentationen von den teilnehmenden Studierenden erworben werden.
